    The local picture

    Work that fits your property

Werribee South sits on the bay below Werribee, and its homes fall into three quite different settings. There are beach houses near the foreshore, family homes on market-garden land with sheds and pumps out the back, and newer townhouses around the Wyndham Harbour precinct. Each one changes how a job is planned. Salt air is hard on outdoor lights, power points and air conditioning units. A long driveway usually means a long cable run. An owners corporation may decide where equipment can go. Mention any of these when you enquire, and the quote will account for them from the start.

Every installation is different. We start with the symptoms, existing equipment and access, then explain the work needed and the options available.

    Homes in Werribee South

Beach houses and older coastal homes

Near the water you'll find older places that have been extended more than once, next to rebuilt homes that are only a few years old. In the older ones the switchboard often shows the history: circuits added one at a time, some without safety switch protection, and outdoor fittings that have taken years of weather. Salt settles on anything outside and holds moisture against it, so screws, terminals and cover seals corrode, water gets in, and the outdoor circuit starts tripping. When we replace outdoor gear we choose sealed, weather-rated fittings with fixings that won't rust, and mount them where spray and rain run off rather than pool.

Houses on market-garden and rural blocks

On a larger block the house is only part of the installation. Sheds, packing areas, pumps, gates and yard lights are usually fed from the house board through a cable that may have been extended more than once. Over a long run, cable that is too light lets the voltage sag, so a pump motor labours and the lights dip every time it starts. We measure the run, check the cable size against the distance and the load, look at how it is protected along the way, and make sure every circuit out there sits behind a safety switch. If the supply reaches the house on poles within your boundary, tell us about those too.

    Townhouses near Wyndham Harbour

Newer townhouses usually come with a modern switchboard and safety switches, so the work is more often adding than repairing: a second split system upstairs, a heat pump hot water unit, power and lighting for a courtyard. The limits are space and rules. Outdoor units compete for narrow side paths and small balconies, roof access can be awkward, and an owners corporation may control what is fixed to external walls or common property. We can give you the unit size, the proposed outdoor unit position and the pipe and cable route in writing, so you have something specific to take to the committee.

Heating and cooling in Werribee South

Plan for both ends of the year. A hot northerly off the inland pushes air conditioning hard, and upstairs rooms in a townhouse or a sunroom facing west feel it first. Winter nights on open coastal ground are cold, and Victorians usually use more energy heating than cooling, so heating efficiency deserves the most weight when choosing a system. A reverse-cycle heat pump covers both jobs. Near the water, outdoor coils and fins also need regular cleaning to stop salt building up.

    Local notes

    Wyndham City is the council

Werribee South is one of the suburbs and localities in the City of Wyndham, alongside neighbouring Werribee, Point Cook and Cocoroc. If a project goes beyond electrical and air conditioning work, such as a new shed or a structure to carry outdoor equipment, it's worth asking Wyndham early whether anything on your block needs its approval.

The hot days come from the north

The Bureau of Meteorology's Laverton weather station, north-east of Werribee South, averages 27 days a year at or above 30 °C and 9.4 days at or above 35 °C, most of them from December to February. The Bureau describes how warm northerly winds often arrive first in a Melbourne weather system, before a cold front changes conditions within minutes. Air conditioning that has sat idle all winter meets its hardest test on the first of those days, which is why a check in spring makes sense.

    Record heat at Laverton

The Laverton weather station's highest recorded temperature is 47.5 °C, set on 7 February 2009, and its January record of 45.6 °C was set on 27 January 2026. On days like those, an outdoor unit in full sun with plants or a fence crowding it struggles far more than one with shade and space to breathe. Where there is a choice of position, that is the one we recommend.

Local information and practical answers before you arrange a visit.

Salt carried on the wind settles on everything outside and draws in moisture. Over time it eats at screws, terminals and the springs in weatherproof covers, and once a seal lets water in, the safety switch on that circuit will often trip. Replacing like for like just starts the same cycle again. We fit sealed, weather-rated fittings with non-corroding fixings, and place them out of the worst of the rain and spray.

    • Couldn't be happier with Total Comfort Electrical & Air. I had a few quotes for the same job, but found some were extremely overpriced and others were quite pushy without really explaining why the work needed to be done. Aaron was completely different. He took his time, explained the job in detail, gave me more than one option and made sure I actually understood what I was paying for. He was extremely easy to deal with, did a great job and left everything clean and tidy. His price was competitive and the quality of the work was fantastic. It's honestly great to find a reliable tradesman who you can trust. Would definitely recommend Aaron and Total Comfort Electrical & Air!

    • Aaron was exceptional, I couldn't recommend him highly enough! He recently did some work at our house and was knowledgeable, tidy and genuinely lovely to have around. Our three year old followed him around for practically the entire day, and he was so patient and kind, happily chatting with her while he worked. We're so happy with everything he did and wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

    • Fantastic job today. Aaron arrived on time (was accurate in how long it would take), very professional, explaining everything as he went. Gave me extra tips on what to do in the future with my appliances. Best of all, he did a really good job (and really nice bloke). Would highly recommend.

    • Aaron did a great job of replacing a faultilt installed aircon on a 3 story townhouse. This wasn't a straightforward install given the property & there were suspected old leaks and further tests had to be done. He has many years of experience and talks you through it, manages the process and manages the expectations, timing delivery etc of more complex issues. He's really knowledgeable at what he does, and I got a free consult generally on my home and what would increase efficiencies in my home across the board. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, for the attention to detail and care you put into the work.

    • Aaron was super professional, did a fantastic job fixing my switchboard which was left in a complete mess by the solar / battery installers. Also installed an EV Charger, ceiling fans and replaced a split system. He didn't rush any part of the electrical works and was completely thorough and asked where and how I wanted everything installed.
